Sugar Land runs a wide age range. Sugar Creek dates to the late 1960s and First Colony's build-out was the 1980s and 1990s, while Telfair and Riverstone are 2000s construction. Older sections have the soffit, roof-return and weep-hole gaps that let in roof rats and smokybrown roaches; the newer master-planned tracts sit around community lakes. Roughly a third of Sugar Land's housing predates 1990, which is the age where entry points open up.
