The hard part is finding it, and that is what we do, then we remove it and treat the area for the smell and the flies. Then we seal the way it got in so it does not happen again.
The smell tells you something died; it does not tell you where. A carcass can be inside a wall void, above a ceiling, in the attic insulation or under the house. We track it down by the odor, the fly activity and the likely travel routes, because cutting into the wrong spot solves nothing.
