They root through flower beds and turf and, worse, dig dens under decks, slabs and foundations, which can undermine the concrete. We remove the armadillo and close off the burrows so the yard and the structure are protected.
Armadillos feed on grubs and worms in the soil, so they dig, every night, leaving cone-shaped holes and rooted-up turf and beds. The bigger problem is where they den: they tunnel under decks, sheds, slabs and foundations, and those burrows can undercut the concrete and create a real structural headache over time.
We remove the armadillo, since they are hard to deter once they have found grubs in your soil, then close off the burrow openings under the structure so another one does not take over the den. If grubs are what is drawing them, that is worth addressing so the yard stops being a buffet.
